Founded in 2005, by owners John and Inge Elmes, Cal City MX Park in California City is a renowned practice and race motocross facility. Located in the center of the third largest OHV riding area in the state, this motocross park holds more than a dozen events per year. Some of those events include the AMA Loretta Lynn Qualifier and the AMA So Cal MX Series as well as the Dirt Series, So Cal Old Timers MX Series and Over the Hill Gang Race Series. John and Inge Elmes also promote two huge race series throughout the year, the Annual Central Valley MX Series and Battle at the Parks MX Series. In the past, Cal City MX Park has also held fundraisers and other events to support the community. The motocross track layout is an open outdoor national style with 35-foot lanes. There is a comprehensive water system throughout the entire facility to properly water during the day. The dirt is said to be the best in Southern California with a perfect combination of sand, clay and decomposed granite. It has a great flow with challenging obstacles, deep ruts and is fun for all levels. The parts shop has all of your everyday use needs along with tubes and a tire changing station. You can pick up a Cal City MX Park T-shirt or hat and buy food at their concession stand. On big weekends and race events, you will find the outdoor barbecue grilling burgers, tri-tip or chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Trees and a shade structure with picnic tables and a grandstand finish the park for great day at the track.
